Description

I have not submitted a car to DA before (well not a finished one!) and to be honest whilst this car is stunningly beautiful, it was actually the reflections in the body panels that made me want to give this one a try.  I have to thank :iconcluke111: Cluke for taking such a wonderful photograph and for allowing me to use it as a reference for my pencil drawing. You can see the original photograph here fav.me/d6kz43p

This was a very difficult project, and took me a very long time to complete.  The grill on the from of the vehicle was a nightmare, as was the shadows in the windows, but most of all trying to get the people reflected in the front fender to look like people was by far the hardest thing I have tried. Whole project took about 40 hours, measures roughly 53X41cm and was drawn on locally sourced smooth Bristol Board type paper with traditional pencils 4H, HB and 8B - in fact a full 8B pencil was used!

I know its a car and not a portrait or something wet - but i hope you like it as much as I do :)

Oh and there is 100 points to the person who can tell me the make and model of the car - first correct answer in a comment wins :)

***************UPDATE*********************

There has been lots of confusion over the Model of the vehicle shown - the make was easier - yes it was an 'Austin" vehicle - but debate has raged (well not quite) over which model it was.
The first and most important clue was the registration number - in the UK you can search this number to find out the exact details of the vehicle, it will even tell you if the registration number has been moved onto another vehicle - in this case the registration number tells me that the car was 'born' (manufactured) in 1947 and had an engine displacement of 1125cc's and not much else! So if you then look at the cars produced just after the war - they only car being manufactured by Austin at the time was the Austin 10!
However the same vehicle (in looks) was also produced before the war and was called an Austin 12 - which is why I thought it was a 12 - I now have to eat humble pie and admit that I now think it was a indeed an Austin 10! - No worries I have issued the two individuals who thought it was both a 12 and a 10 - 100 points, so everyone is happy (apart from the people who thought it was a Ford
