I have recently become besotted by the fantasy art surrounding these mega games on Xbox, ps3 and pc. I have to admit that I don't lay the games, but think the artwork is incredible, and I will be doing more pencil drawings from various titles very soon.
The is drawing is of a character called Tychus Findlay from Starcraft (you can find out more here [link]) I have made him look more rugged and rough than the reference picture used, not sure why - think I just got carried away
Drawing as usual on Bristol Board smooth A3, range of mechanical and traditional pencils, erasers and I also used a white helped for the writing on his face.
This took 2 weeks, and the original looks better than the one uploaded, so I may try and photo/scan again to see if I can mprovement.
I use two types of pencil for the dark blackout areas in my drawings, Faber Castell 8B which is great for shading almost black areas - but be careful it can become shiney which is a nightmare if your trying to take a photograph of your drawing. The other pencil I have usedis a Steadler Mars Lumograph 8B, which is more like charcoal and is unbelievable for extreme matt black areas - but I find it very difficult to blend. I recomend both
