From what I understand about the reference is that the photo was actually taken in Losarang, Indonesia. However it reminded me so much of the Cormorant fisherman in Guilin, China - I added the background to make it look more Chinese that Indonesian (as I also live in China it felt more fitting

The largest and most time consuming piece I have ever undertaken; 65cm X 50cm on my newly found A0 Smooth'ish paper - thats a lot of paper to cover in pencil - which is why it probably took 40 hours to complete using mainly HB,2B and 8B pencils, sharpened eraser and blending stumps.
