Drenched by Paul-Shanghai Drenched by Paul-Shanghai
A combination of my two favourite things to draw - Water and Potraits :) thanks to the very talented Sema Arslan sistanbul.deviantart.com/ for allowing me to use her wonderful photograph to draw this. It's one of my new favourites so I hope you like it also? :)

One of my larger drawings on a smooth locally source 'Bristil Board' like paper, about 60cm X 40cm, drawn with a wide range of traditional pencils and my trusty 0.5mm 4B mechanical pencil it took well over 20hours - lots of white paper to fill with graphite!

If you like this maybe you will want to take a look at my other wet people drawings :D

UPDATE****UPDATE****

I have just added a short animation showing the stages of drawing, which can be found here...

What is it about drawing water that attracts you so much, I wonder? :P

I think it is just the fact that I think it makes a portrait more interesting than just a 'passport' style face straight on - also I find water a challenge :)
