Description
This was one of those photographs that make you want to get your pencils out, and immediatley start drawing. Not just the beautiful eye(s) but the wonderful mouth shape (I also loved the bright pink shoal - but this is hard to capture in graphite 
)
Drawn from an amazing picture by a wonderful photographer - Banhup Teh, who kindly allowed me to draw from his collection. You can find the original here pbase.com/dtbh/image/88223667 - but please they are not stock images and you need his permission before using anything.
Drawn on A3 Bristol Board Smooth with traditional pencils HB,2B and 8B along with a mechanical 4B, blenders and erasers - about 10-15 hours.
One of a short series of 'half faces' still a few more to come which I will upload shortly. So far the series includes just one other drawing;

I've browsed your gallery and must say I really like your style. Your pics with water are real stunning, you've got such an artistic eye when it comes to details. This drawing is my favourite, because there is so much mystery beneath. The child is so cute and its expression is so emotional there's no wonder it was a must-draw for you! Even it's photorealistic, it still looks like a drawing and that's what I love about it, I also like the way you've blended your pencils here. Very nice work for the scarf pattern and mouth too.
I hope you don't mind if I say I'd welcome a little bit shading the eye white because it's too bright and contrasting in my opinion.
